ToggleGolden Skybridge, known as home of Canada’s highest suspension bridges, opened its doors in 2021 and has been one of the Golden’s must visit spots ever since.
What started as a natural walk across two spectacular suspension bridges hanging over a canyon, has now grown into a full adventure park with ziplines, mountain coaster, treetop challenges and other thrilling attractions. All of that while being surrounded by endless views of Columbia Valley, Purcell and Rocky mountain ranges.
Golden Skybridge is a great adventure spot that offers something for all ages, so let’s talk about all attractions and everything you need know for your visit.
Disclosure: Our visit at Golden Skybridge was hosted by Pursuit Banff Jasper Collection, however all words and opinions in this article are our own.
GOLDEN SKYBRIDGE ATTRACTIONS
Canada's Highest Suspension Bridges
The two suspension bridges are the main attractions of the park and provide spectacular views of the canyon and Columbia Valley as well as the surrounding mountain ranges. At 130 and 80 meters above the bottom of the canyon, these happen to be Canada’s highest suspension bridges! Now do you want to know if they move and wobble while you stand or walk on them? Yes, they definitely do. While it’s perfectly safe to walk accross, you probably figured that the whole park is not for those with a fear of heights.
Viewpoints
Waterfall Lookout, Upper, Middle and Lower Canyon Viewpoint and Touch the Sky Seat are great stops along the park’s walking trails where you take it all in and snap some photos.
Sky Zipline
Sky Zipline is a thrilling 300 meter ride accross the canyon. The views of the canyon from 150 meters in the air are truly spectacular and there are 4 tracks which means you can ride together in a group.
Canyon Edge Challenge Course
The Canyon Edge Challenge is a rope and zipline course that features three different routes in various difficulties. Perfect for all ages!
Axe Throwing
We never thought this would be so fun! Those 16 and older can test lumberjack skills at the axe throwing station.
Climbing Wall
Test your climbing skills at Golden Skybridge! This 8.5 meters high nature inspired wall has easy, moderate and challenging routes you can take on.
Treetop Village Park
This is a unique forest playground with treehouses, slides and kid-friendly ziplines and definitely a must do stop for families with young kids!
Railrider Mountain Coaster
Thrilling ride through tunnels, loops and forests at a speed of up to 40 km/hour! That is Railrider Mountain Coaster, definitely one of the most thrilling attractions at Golden Skybridge. Sadly, it was closed due to a maintenance during our visit, but that just means we’ll have to come back!
Giant Canyon Swing
The most high-octane experience at the park and definitely not not a one for the faint of the heart. Giant Canyon Swing is a borderline bungee experience that sends you free-falling over the canyon’s edge. While we know this is not for everyone, it is easily one of our favourite memories from 2023! Check the video from our swing if you want to have an idea what to expect!
WHEN TO VISIT GOLDEN SKYBRIDGE
Being a fully outdoor park, Golden Skybridge is only opened seasonally between May and October, so you’ll have to plan your visit during this time window. The opening date for 2024 is set to May 4th and closing date is October 14th, so mark it in your calendar!
Now if you’re deciding about a specific month, then there are two things to consider. The weather is most likely going to be awesome from mid June to early September, but that also means the park will be busy (and you should definitely book ahead of time). May or October, on the other hand, may feel way quieter, but the weather can be pretty much anything. These are Rockies, after all, but who says you can’t layer up and enjoy it anyways? It really is about what you prefer and find more important.
We visited Golden Skybridge in the mid-week at the very beginning of July and while the park definitely got busy over the day, we actually didn’t find it too crazy.

GOLDEN SKYBRIDGE: FINAL THOUGHTS
Golden Skybridge is such a fun place where you can enjoy the beauty of Golden’s nature in a different way. Now is it worth it to drive to Golden just to visit the park? We genuinely enjoyed our visit and the giant canyon swing is something we’ll never forget. However, if you only want to visit for the bridges, then we’d recommend visiting if you’re either driving through and need to break up your drive or if you have more places or activities you want to do in Golden.
